Cheese Omelette Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 2-3 tablespoons of grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your preferred type)
- 1 tablespoon milk or water (optional, for fluffiness)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
- Optional add-ins: chopped herbs (like parsley or chives), diced onions, bell peppers, or tomatoes
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ingredients:
- Crack the eggs into a bowl.
- Add the milk or water (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Beat the eggs with a fork or whisk until the mixture is smooth and slightly frothy.
2. Heat the Pan:
- Place a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the butter or oil and let it melt, coating the bottom of the pan evenly.
3. Cook the Omelette:
- Pour the beaten eggs into the heated pan.
- Let the eggs cook undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes until they start to set around the edges.
4. Add the Cheese:
- Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over one half of the omelette.
- If you're adding any optional ingredients like herbs or vegetables, do so now.
5. Fold the Omelette:
- Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, use a spatula to gently fold the omelette in half, covering the cheese.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and the eggs are fully cooked.
6. Serve:
- Slide the omelette onto a plate and serve immediately.
- You can garnish with extra herbs or a side of toast, if desired.
